hiring. Many employers outsource the following background screening
functions to Backgrounds USA. However, we can do as much or as little
as you require in your hiring process.
Following is a
list of the background searches typically run for employment screening
purposes, with a brief description. For more information on each
search, use the navigation headings to the left or click on the search

Employment Verification |
Verify
dates of service, position(s) held and ending pay scale.
Ascertain whether the applicant was full or part-time, a temporary
or permanent employee, and if drug screening was performed.
Understand the reason for leaving their last position, if notice
was given, and if they are eligible for rehire.

Education Verification |
Verify
dates of attendance, periods of absence, levels completed, area of
emphasis, degree(s) awarded, and honors received. Some
institutions will not release transcripts or course grades.

Certification Verification |
Verify
license type(s), issue and expiration dates, training necessary to
be awarded the license or certificate, current status and the name
of the issuing administration.

Personal References |
Ascertain
how long the reference has known the individual and the nature of
their relationship. Obtain information about character,
productivity, punctuality, drug & alcohol use, interpersonal &
management skills, employability, strengths, weaknesses,
responsibilities, and achievements.

Driving Records (DMV) |
Obtain a
record of all moving violations and driving related offenses
committed for the past 3 to 7 years (depending on the state).
Records also include personal data such as full name, date of
birth, address at time of issue/renewal, dates of issue and
expiration, physical description, type of license, previous
license number, and any restrictions on use. A signed release
is required for some states.

Social Security Number (SSN)
Verification |
In order to
return reliable background screening results, you should verify an
applicant’s social security number to help expose identity fraud.
This is often used to hide past criminal or credit activity.

Workers Compensation Records |
The
information in this report varies from state to state. At a
minimum most include date of accident, case number, status of
claim, description of accident, including bodily part injured,
employer’s name at time of incident, and time lost.

Drug Screening Tests |
Perform 5-
or 10-panel tests, test of the presence of adulterants. Perform
tests in-house, or conduct them at a collection center. Contact
